dealer/supplier index section of the PM Online exchange, where
navigational links to its catalog data and own Internet site
will be housed.
PM Online’s Internet-based Exchange is enabling
participating landlords, property managers, dealers and
suppliers to control and automate Internet-based price and
quote requests, and the ordering and delivery of building
materials, thereby improving communications, planning and
efficiency. Through PM Online, wholesalers, dealers and
suppliers are able to efficiently update product information
and introduce new products using highly individualized
Internet-based tools, without resorting to traditional, costly
paper-based delivery methods. In addition to catalog services,
PM Online is enabled to track purchases by apartment suite, GL
code, and by product line.
"Midnorthern Appliance” is a leading edge company, one
of the leaders in the industry, and we’re very pleased to
have them join the PM Online Exchange as a supplier
member," said David Bloomstone, Director of Sales.
"Our agreement will benefit Midnorthern by allowing users
of the PM Online Exchange to view and procure products online
and integrate the pertinent business data into their
back-office systems."
"We are excited about joining the PM Online
Exchange," said Michael Gnat, Midnorthern Appliance
President. "The end result from our agreement should be a
business-to-business procurement system that helps make the
entire supply chain work more efficiently."
About
Midnorthern Appliance
Midnorthern
Appliance was founded in 1958 and for the past 42 years has
been the industry leader in major home appliance sales to the
new construction and property management trade.
Midnorthern started in business as a coin laundry route
operator in southern Ontario. Many property
managers began requesting from Midnorthern appliances for
their suites, and a major appliance division was established.
As new buildings were being built, the natural progression to
supplying those buildings with appliances moved Midnorthern
into the direct sales to new construction business. As
products and consumers became more sophisticated and wanted
better than “standard” appliances, Midnorthern opened up
retail storefronts to accommodate their desire to
“upgrade” to higher featured models. Over the past
40 years Midnorthern has sold over 1 Million appliances.
In May of 2000, Midnorthern Appliance Inc. purchased Home and
Rural Appliances (Shearhart Corporation) to form Midnorthern
Group Inc. Home and Rural was founded in 1945 and
currently operates 19 retail showrooms in Ontario.
Together Midnorthern Group is the largest appliance specialty
company in Canada, and ranks among the top ten appliance
retailer/distribution companies in North America.
